About the Department
The department of Commerce CA established in the year 2017 with a single faculty and it is evolved with five faculty members. Right from the day of it's inception, the department has carried out many innovative and rewarding practices towards the overall development of the student community activities to create the conditions for economic growth and opportunity for all the communities. This department was started on 2017 with the strength of 53, and in the year 2018 having 60, in the year 2019 with 56, 2020 with 60, in the year 2021 with 75, in the year 2022 with 72 and in the current year 2023 with the strength of 60. Department has well qualified faculty with strength of 5. The department has conducted four seminars. Majority of the students are from rural backgrounds. So, the department takes the challenge of meeting the requirement of equipping with computer application for these rural students.
Department Activities
Organised a one-day seminar on “CLOUD COMPUTING”on 2 nd March 2023 in Seminar Hall.
The programme started at 11:00 AM with Presidential Address by Principal Dr.S. DEVARAJ
ARUMAI NAYAGAM The Chief Guest and other Dignitaries accompanied in the lamp lighting.
Conducted various completions as interdepartmental activity like Best Entrepreneur, Poster designing, Dumb charades, Mahanadi. The Department has conducted Quiz programme for their students the day before seminar. The topics of the quiz competition were Subject, General Awareness and Current Affairs. The judges selected the first and second prize winners. The prizes were distributed by the Honourable Chief Guest and Principal .
“Conducted Orientation on “Anti drug abuse” on 11.08.2023 for all Students of college. Around 540 students took oath on that day against Drug usage. Mr.Dharmaraj, Sub Inspector, Liquor exemption and prohibition department, Thondamuthur has given the orientation.

Convocation details:
First convocation conducted in the year April 2023. 34 students received convocation from 2017 Batch 44 students received convocation from 2018 batch.
Conducted parents meet and alumni meet for 2020 batch on 24th august 2023.
Conducted Parents meeting for the current students on 4th October 2023
